The Lead System Safety Engineer performs tasks and analyses in the following areas: Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Risk Assessment, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA); Must have knowledge of System Safety Engineering analysis techniques and processes, including but not limited to, functional hazard assessment (FHA), system safety assessment (SSA) and particular risk assessment (PRA) from initial requirement through requirement verification. (ARP 4754A and ARP4761 Processes); and experience in performance of fault tree analysis, failure mode effect analysis, and common cause analysis.

• Must have background in generating Systems Safety Hazard Reports, Common Cause Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Prediction Reports, Critical Safety Item identification (supporting Systems Engineering FMEA)
• Safety and Reliability support of reviewing: Design Engineering creation of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), and Manufacturing Operations or Supplier in creation for Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) in accordance with applicable standards.
• Will be an integral member of program CCBs to review the preparation of documentation with the end goal of system qualification and product certification of a Safe and Reliable product. (including system specifications, interface control documents, system description documents, test specifications and reports).
• Support trade studies for Aircraft Programs and advise on safety related items
• Reviews supplier reliability predictions, FMEAs and FTAs in support of development of Aircraft and System Safety Analyses
• Guide the development of safety documentation to support customer/contract requirements
• Experience with Reliability & Maintainability - Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Maintenance Task Analysis, reliability modeling / predictions / calculations, environmental qualification testing, environmental stress screening (ESS), failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS), testability analysis

Parlons de vous

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science or physics with aerospace experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and aerospace experience
• 10+ years of aircraft systems development experience
• 5+ years of experience in System Safety Engineering
• Substantial experience with the following industry / military standards: MIL-STD-882, ARP4761, ARP4754, MIL-HDBK-217
• Substantial experience with 14 CFR Part 21, 23, and 25
