Based on standard operating policies, procedures, and practices to ensure all materials are defined, procured, and available to support dates for New Product Development for testing, CDR, Tool Try & #1 Balance. This individual will work under general supervision to ensure on-time delivery and at or under budget pricing that is consistent with quality, quantity, delivery, and terms.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A. Ensure all tooling, raw material & parts are defined, procured, and available to support program schedules for testing, CDR, Tool Try & #1 Balance.
B. Coordinates material structuring, quoting or ordering and delivery to support development, testing and production for milestone dates.
C. Monitor and communicate shortages to ensure tools are in process to support the development, testing and production schedules.
D. Communicate status to meet toll gates for each phase of new product launch to protect customer date. Escalate through Supply Chain & any impacted internal customers if dates compress or violate the program schedule.
E. Drives the timely releases and rescheduling of manufacturing and release of purchase orders (MO & POs) to support development, testing and production.
F. Works with design, certification, planning, manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers to resolve material constraints and identify work around to support program schedule.
G. Coordinates the flow of material and paperwork between Safran Seats USA and satellite factories in the United States and foreign countries. Must be able to work with counterparts at these facilities to ensure a smooth flow and maintain schedules.
H. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
i) Must have working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems that could include, SAP, Oracle, Infor, MAPICS. Additional experience with Thru-put, Lotus Notes and XA Power Link is a plus.
ii) Must have above average working knowledge of Microsoft Products to include Excel, Word, Power Point and Project.
iii) Must be able to communicate and interact successfully with all levels of engineering, tooling, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing departments.
iv) Must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing and materials processes.
Education and Experience:
i) BS preferred in fields related to Business or Material Management, but can substitute with a minimum of 6 years' experience as a Planner, Buyer and/or combined experience in manufacturing environment.
ii) 3 additional years in a buyer/purchasing capacity
Competencies: Acts in accordance with company values and related competencies.
Communication Skills: Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
International and/or Domestic travel required as needed not to exceed 5% of time per year
