Description de la mission
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Provide support to leads and operators in the assembly and fabrication areas.
B) Analyze parts and seat flow.
C) Conducts labor and machine time studies, operator work and motion studies, material and work flow studies in order to suggest and implement more economical and efficient manufacturing practices. Uses gathered data to establish and publish Standard Labor and Machine Data, and to calculate manpower and machine requirements.
D) Balance the lines or cells and implement procedures and/or operator instructions to support process improvement.
E) Participate to the implementation of structure and plan manufacturing programs (Lean Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, 6S, Cost Reduction…).
F) Apply statistical data analysis in normal duty activities.
G) Measures, analyzes, and adjusts Factory Floor Layout/ Process Flows to achieve optimum manufacturing productivity as directed by Lean Manufacturing practices, subject to managerial approval.
H) Design of major layouts with product flow, material handling considerations, and infrastructure provisions.
I) Creates and documents Standard Work Instructions for use by factory personnel, in compliance with design and quality specifications and FAA directives
J) Participates in training shop personnel in new and/or updated processes, including Lean Manufacturing practices and improvement implementations.
K) Introduces new production processes and equipment.
L) Collaborates with engineering design personnel to influence product design and thus provides for good production methods and economical tooling.
M) Reviews changes in engineering design, planning, tooling, and N/C programming to determine impact on current processes, methods and work instructions. Follows through with updating standard data and standard work instructions per such changes.
N) Investigates serious or recurrent production difficulties and delays due to such factors as faulty methods, tooling, operational sequences, or inadequate facilities or layouts.
O) Frequently contacts supervisory and non-supervisory personnel in engineering, production planning, tool design and other departments for the purpose of discussing production problems in order to secure necessary information or consider factors which may interfere with the effectiveness of production. Takes preventive or corrective action to remedy the problem or refer it to others who may be more directly responsible.
P) Develops new ideas and methods, and recommends changes in existing tooling to secure the most economical production. Submits cost reduction ideas.

Q) Continuously analyzes current processes, tooling and methods in the factory for labor and/or cost reduction opportunities. Documents such opportunities and submits suggestions for managerial approval. Implements all approved suggestions. Investigates new manufacturing processes and plans implementation, including acquisition of new equipment and/or facilities.
R) Completes all assignments aimed at determining optimal methods and processes for manufacturing designated company products.
S) Cooperates with Safety and Health personnel to optimize factory safety conditions.
T) Manages significant cost capital projects including identification of equipment, justification of capital, and ensures schedule and installation is per plan.
U) Uses published Schedule and Production Requirements data to develop manufacturing capacity analyses for all of the manufacturing departments and work centers involved in meeting the Production Plan. Regular electronic reports will be presented to upper management for determining actions for solving any capacity issues.
V) Prepares regular Manpower reports to relay information regarding manufacturing departments or work centers that are in need of employee and/or equipment adjustments.
W) Prepares Manpower/Capacity/Forecast reports for aircraft manufacturers (i.e. Boeing, Airbus, etc.) to relay the company's production capability to manage future commitments.
Knowledge and Skills:
i) Requires sufficient training to permit ready comprehension of problems having to do with production methods and facilities.
ii) Must be capable of preparing well-written and orderly reports.
iii) Must have sufficient knowledge of manufacturing and related operations with detailed knowledge of such fields as product design, engineering function, tool design, tool fabrication, space layout, handling equipment, production machinery and equipment, N/C machinery and equipment, factory methods work, etc.
iv) Must have knowledge of trigonometry, algebra and statistics.
v) Must be proficient in inventory management, product data management, monitoring production control and cost, and in manufacturing resource planning.
vi) Strong knowledge of motion and time study principles

viii) Strong PC skills, knowledge of all Microsoft software

xi) A documented history of supporting manufacturing fabrication and assembly departments in identifying and resolving production problems and issues.
xii) Demonstrates the ability to facilitate continuous improvement in the production process.
xiii) Must be experienced in interacting closely with personnel at all levels of the manufacturing system, including supervision and management.
xiv) Must be able to assume a leadership position in regard to Lean Manufacturing improvement projects, and exhibit a record of actively supporting past projects.
xv) Must be capable of interacting regularly and cooperatively with Quality Assurance, Program Management, Engineering, and Production Management to resolve quality, productivity, ergonomic and safety issues.
xvi) Must be capable of initiating improvement projects resulting in labor, material, space, manpower, and/or other measurable cost reductions.
xvii) Must have a working knowledge of current “6S” factory practices
xviii) Should be familiar with company policies regarding worker safety and have demonstrated the ability to identify and resolve safety issues in the workplace.
xix) Knowledgeable of Safety concepts as it applies to manufacturing layouts.
xx) Must have demonstrated above average capability for developing engineering analysis.
xxi) Must have knowledge of basic material handling principles and products
xxii) Must be capable of developing “special projects” that are reviewed at the Zodiac level.
xxiii) Uses statistics as a normal tool for resolving issues.
xxiv) Leads or assists process improvement teams.
B) Education and Experience:
i) Must have one of the following:
- • B.S. degree in a related technical field (eg: IE, ME, EE) required; or
- • Associate degree (in related field) with 3 years related experience; or
- • Six (6) years of job related experience.
ii) Additionally 5-8 years' work experience required
