Safran’s long term credit rating: A-, outllook stable (S&P)

Long-term credit rating

Standard & Poor's upgraded Safran's long-term credit rating on December 2, 2022 to A- (stable outlook), from BBB+ (positive outlook).

The upgrade of Safran's “investment grade” rating reflects its ability to continue to generate solid free operating cash flow with its credit metrics that have strengthened. More generally, the strength of Safran's balance sheet, its rapid adaptation to the Covid crisis and its strong deleveraging capabilities amid difficult market conditions were taken into account.

The stable outlook associated with the A- rating reflects Safran's large exposure to narrowbody aircraft, its strong cost discipline, which could mitigate weakening macroeconomic conditions and the impact of inflation over the next two years.

Safran Net Debt on 31 December 2020
2,792 million

compared with €4,114 million on 31 December 2019. This decrease is based on free cash flow generation and the absence of dividend payments in 2020 for the 2019 financial year.
