Descripción del puesto de trabajo

- Act as a technical liaison between suppliers, Corporate Commodity Managers, Program and Engineering team.
- Manage the preparation and execution of work package, in relation with Corporate Commodity managers, including but not limited to leading or participating in supplier selection, capacity assessment, quality improvement; supplier readiness. Typically assigned to technically complex projects
- Work with Sustaining Engineering and NPI teams to ensure the integrity and clarify of engineering drawing & technical requirements, and that all required information is communicated effectively to suppliers
- Interact with Sustaining Engineering and NPI teams to ensure suppliers are involved in development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturing
- Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in qualify , value/cost , delivery and technology
- Use project management skills and tools to investigate alternate component technologies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability and implement change
- Lead or participate in the development and maintenance of supplier process development
- Research potential sources of supply for purchased products to ensure prices are globally competitive and sufficient production capacity is available within the supply chain. Understand the market price or “Should Cost” price for key commodity items
- Research new technologies with potential to enhance existing product offerings or that could provide new avenues for product solutions
- Develop and implement strategies to improve supplier productivity/quality, and ensure supply chain continuity
- Develop and maintain tracking or other systems to allow for efficient status reporting capability
- Assist implementation and communication of global sourcing strategies led by
Corporate Commodity Managers
- Facilitate and lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) processes
- Facilitate and lead root cause problem investigation and resolution through design prevention.
- Be the voice of Sourcing team in Engineering forums

Requisitos del puesto de trabajo

- Bachelor's degree and preferably Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Aircraft Engineering or related
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Fluent in English both verbal and written.
- Being able to work under pressure.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in design & manufacturing environment;
preferably aviation industry.
- Engineering and/or manufacturing background with a thorough technical-
commercial knowledge and experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation
- Solid understanding of engineering and production/manufacturing
technologies, tools and practices
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, SPC, Six-Sigma , DOE (Design of
experiment) and VA/VE is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Visio
- Ability to manage projects with multi-functional team, identify potential
issues/risks, etc.
- Strong integrity with proactive mindset
- Negotiation skill and business oriented
- Understands supplier's and product's cost structure and elements which
determine cost basis
- Understands the business implications of various patterns of commodity
usage; recognizes source of competitive advantage through effective
commodity use
- Understands the implications of commodity quality for the manufacturing
process, and manufacturing cost; makes effective trade-off
- Understands individual products manufactured, including: components,
functionality, position in product line
