CAD Designer/Patterning

Creates detail CAD drawings and patterns of parts or routine sub-assemblies incorporating all the necessary information on dimensions, materials, specification, notes, which will be required to produce the part.

1 Analyzes and breaks down assembly design drawings which have been prepared by design engineer.
2 Creates detail CAD drawings of various parts and sub-assemblies involved in showing dimensions, materials, specification, assembly, and inspection notes.
3 Prepares assembly CAD drawings showing callout of detail, and all pertinent data required for the fabrication of these parts.
4 Incorporates Engineering Change Notices per standard company Drafting Procedures and Practices.
6 Works with Manufacturing Engineering as directed, to obtain information on manufacturing processes, tooling, and the availability of standard tooling.
7 Verify digitized patterns.
8 Signs off as the checker on design changes for drawings, including specification and source control drawings.
9 Research and interact with Engineering and Manufacturing in support of new drawings and changes to existing drawings.
10 Enter tracking data into database for in-process ECN's.
11 Digitize flat patterns on digitizer table or PDS Software.
12 Verify digitized patterns by comparison blueprints, sketches, and actual patterns.
13 Creates markers and cut files for automated fabric cutter to support Engineering and Production.
14 Interface/communicate with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, and Quality, regarding support of automated cutting equipment.
15 Translate CAD drawings into patterns.

Minimum one year certificate from college or technical school; and 2 years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to operate specific equipment or tools (drafting scales, tape rules, micrometer and caliper).
Ability to work with specific computer software (Catia,NX I-Deas, Lectra, Excel, Word, M-3, Access, Adobe Illustrator).
Familiarity with industry terminology.
Ability to create new drawings from 3D models.
Ability to create new drawings in 2D drafting.
Familiar with Catia.
Familiar with Lectra software suite
Familiar with NX I-Deas Data Management.
