Responsible for producing financial and business intelligence, by querying data repositories, using Birst Analytics, SQL, and Office software to generate ad-hoc and periodic reports and KPIs, for a fast paced, manufacturing environment. It is essential that the BI Analyst builds an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues with management. The BI Analysts must ensure that the data is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. The BI Analyst educates and trains clients to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, or enhancements.
B) Works with internal and external customers and IT partners to develop and analyze business intelligence needs.
C) Interpret business requirements and determine optimum BI solutions to meet needs.
D) Research business problems and create models that help analyze these business problems.
E) Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action.
F) Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.
G) Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.
H) Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
I) Maintain library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
J) Create or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions.
K) Document specifications for business intelligence or information technology (IT) reports, dashboards, or other outputs.
L) Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
M) Other duties as assigned.
A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Strong knowledge of SQL reporting, including constructing inner and outer joins, and using views, and ‘Select' based queries
ii) Strong knowledge of Birst Analytics, or Business Objects as a transferable skill
iii) Ability to created dashboards and reports usable by all levels of staff
iv) Excellent client interaction skills required as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
v) Familiarity with working with data across multiple platforms via ODBC
vi) Familiarity with data interrogation techniques in AS/400 (iSeries) environments
vii) Familiarity with data transformation and data dictionaries.
viii) Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical decision making skills.
ix) Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively listen; to include technical and non-technical information.
B) Education and Experience:
i) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or specialized training/certification.
ii) Additionally 5+ years in a Business Intelligence Analyst role.

Communication Skills: Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
