This position is in the Shipping Department. The primary responsibilities of this position are to prepare appropriate shipping labels for our packaged products, package our products, input data transactions and manually load shipping containers. This position requires standing approximately 90% of the workday. Employee may pack boxes for shipment using the foam machine and other packing material. This employee may use pneumatic staple guns, tape dispensers, pallet jacks, metal band/strap machine and will wrap boxes using shrink-wrap. In addition this employee will load containers for shipping our compactor boxes. This Employee will be trained on our internal computer system (M3) to perform shipping transactions. Employee will be certified to drive a fork lift. This employee will perform necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment. As a Material Clerk this individual may be asked to assist in other areas such as the Stockroom and Receiving.
In order to perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able stand for approximately 90% of the workday. Must be able to lift 50 plus lbs. in order to load a shipping container. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications and computer literate enough to be trained on entering M3 transactions. Must have 6 months to 1 year experience working with International freight, Domestic Freight, LTL and LCL loads, Should have experience working with UPS and FedEx shipping systems. Should have experience working with 8130-3 and CT176 tags as well as experience driving a fork lift. Must be able to multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the day. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
