Focus on China
A trusted supplier close to his customers
Providing engine test equipment and facilities for several Chinese customers since more than 25 years, Safran, through its Safran Test Cells Division in Belgium and in USA, has been active and privileged to be a part of the Chinese aviation industry. With a dedicated local team, Safran provides to its Chinese customers all kinds of support and maintenance services, from preventive to curative maintenance requirements. Safran is the biggest supplier in Test Cells Utilities and Services in China with customers located in Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing, Zhuhai and Xiamen. With 3 additional test cells recently contracted, Safran also built under contract with AECC CAE two new development test cells for the first Chinese commercial turbofan engine, the CJ1000, and a turboshaft facility at Dongan in Harbin.
LEAP, a success story
As Safran Aero Boosters initiated the development of the booster module for the LEAP engines’ next generation, Safran Test Cells immediately began to upgrade its Test Cells and DACS in order to prepare for the first test of development engines. Safran Test Cells also started a completely new site to assemble engine test equipment. Today, this new site is one-of-a-kind to perform a pre-installation fit-up for the adapter, cowls and boat tails, avoiding installation issues and saving critical downtime. Safran Test Cells is the only company to have CFMI approved designs for all LEAP 1A and 1B test hardware, to manufacture and deliver complete hardware sets. The company also supports the aftermarket with best-in-class service, repairs and spares.
