Sustainable action to combat exclusion
The Safran Foundation for Integration acts against all forms of exclusion. In this spirit, it develops actions to facilitate the social or professional integration of young adults affected by motor, sensory, mental or social impairments.
Since its creation in March 2005, the Safran Foundation for Integration has been active in supporting long-term projects submitted by associations. To date, nearly 200 projects with lasting impact for their beneficiaries have been carried out in France and abroad.
In 2016, the Safran Foundation for Integration supported 25 projects for social and vocational integration, as well as for training leading to qualifications. Increasingly, the ideas for these projects are coming from Group employees. The Foundation also has an international presence: this is particularly the case in Morocco, with the EMA association, which works with disadvantaged schools in Casablanca; and in New Delhi, India, with two projects for centers dedicated to social and professional integration. Through the Foundation's support for the "Life Project 4 Youth" association, more than sixty young people receive training and assistance creating micro-economic activities.
The Foundation also carries out its own operations with the contribution of Safran employees. For example, it supports highly qualified employees who choose to become involved in integration actions, in particular in conjunction with the Frateli association, whose objective is to sponsor students with high potential from modest backgrounds.

The SHIFT project (Safran Handicap Innovation Fauteuil Technologie)
This multi-year project, launched in 2011 by the Safran Foundation for Integration in partnership with the Garches Foundation aims to improve the situation of people with disabilities (and their caregivers) using a non-motorized wheelchair. How? By developing an innovative and versatile wheelchair. Its originality stems from a multidisciplinary approach involving engineering schools, a design school, a clinical committee and a technology committee. The design of a first Comfort platform called "DITTO" has been completed. The current phase is working to define an industrial approach with a retail strategy focusing on health professionals.
