Safran's CSR policy

  • A rock-solid commitment to meeting social, societal and environmental challenges, in Europe and worldwide.

In line with our signature of the United Nations Global Compact, in October 2017 Safran signed a global framework agreement with IndustriALL Global Union and representatives of the metallurgy federations in French unions, concerning working conditions, corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

  • A corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach that irrigates the entire enterprise and reflects its values and ethics.
  • A commitment to international human rights, the right to work, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.

Our actions in favor of diversity mainly concern the employment of young people and seniors, the inclusion of persons from underserved communities, gender equality in the workplace, and the hiring and continued employment of disabled persons.

The sustainable employment of young people, the hiring and continued employment of seniors, and the transmission of skills and expertise between generations are all major objectives for Safran, enabling us to meet innovation, performance and growth objectives.
Safran is fully committed to supporting the social and professional inclusion of persons from underserved communities, especially youngsters, by offering guidance, training and employment. We also take part in a number of national initiatives that support inclusion, and we are a partner in events designed to support the orientation, training and employment of young people without traditional qualifications.

At Safran, gender equality and equal opportunity are a key to performance and growth. That's why we have long deployed actions everywhere in the world to fight against discrimination during hiring, and support fair compensation and equal career development possibilities. Safran have been awarded in January 2018 the GEEIS label (Gender Equality European and International Standard).
For example, to recruit more women, still largely in the minority (the target is hiring every year at least 30% of women), Safran participates in initiatives such as the association Elles Bougent (Women on the Move), which aim to promote jobs in industry among women and also spotlight women already working in industry.
Safran is proactively committed to:
- changing the way people see the disabled, and reaffirming our commitment to fighting against discrimination related to disabilities;
- fostering the hiring and continued employment of people with disabilities.
Our corporate Disabled Employment team applies our policy in this area, in all countries where we operate. Safran is also developing a work-study scheme for disabled persons so they can be trained in our job fields.
