Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering the challenging, but exciting opportunity to join our Customer Support department as part of the Apprenticeship programme to become a Customer Support apprentice.

What will I be doing?

At Safran Landing systems we have a variety of customers with different requirement and expectations of our customer support team.

· Dealing with internal and external customers providing product knowledge and support to investigate and solve in service issues with airlines and operators
· Produce, review and update technical documentation to support air framers for a variety of products
· Forecast spares demand using statistical analysis working with other team members to integrate market intelligence into the forecast
· Complete in depth data analysis to identify areas of concern and propose recommendations for improvement to avoid excessive and shortages of products.

This will enable you to develop an excellent foundation in Engineering. As a valued member of the team, your knowledge and skills will be utilised to assist our continuous improvement programme, thereby ensuring that our customers are supported through the life cycle of our products.

Your apprenticeship will follow a structured Level 3 Engineering Technical support diploma. In the first year you will spend time at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed.

The remainder of this qualification will be delivered and assessed within the workplace where you will be required to achieve a Level 3 Diploma. You will also spend time in other departments on placement rotations to support your individual training needs according to your Development Plan.

The qualification will provide you with practical skills in various manufacturing processes (CNC programming, Milling, Turning and Lathes) and theory including Mathematics, and engineering science.

What do you need from me?

You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work.

You will possess excellent problem solving abilities. The role of apprentice will require you to be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You will be a motivated, hard-working individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. The ability to effectively work as part of a team and on your own will be key to your success.

Successful candidates will need to have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 5 GCSE's at grade C or above to include Maths, English, Science and a technology.
