Safran Data Systems (SDS), formerly Zodiac Data Systems, is an entity of Safran, present in Europe and the United States. It designs and manufactures a wide range of products and solutions in the areas of airborne and ground telemetry, embedded information processing, data acquisition and recording, satellite control and remote control. SDS employs over 600 people in France, USA, and Germany.

Safran Data Systems Inc is a U.S. company, but a wholly owned subsidiary of the Safran Group, that engages in equipment and solutions from on-board data acquisition, recording and Telemetry transmission to ground tracking antenna, Telemetry receiver and recorder and data processing, serving the flight test, aerospace, and rocket communities. We also provide a comprehensive range of solutions for satellite ground stations (tracking antenna, receivers, and recorder) for GEO, MEO and LEO satellites and deep space spacecraft and for Space Situation Awareness.

The company has grown 60% over the last 3 years to now over $40M in annual revenue and we are currently expanding our team with a new Sales Director to lead our ground Telemetry division sales for customers in the Western side of the United States. You will be taking over established accounts on this territory and will be responsible to grow our current footprint with budget and target goals. Safran is an established brand with significant market share within the commercial, government and Major Range and Test Base Facility (MRTBF) customers and we are looking to add the right person to our team. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and customer-focused company that is growing strong (over 20% in 2020) -- with lots of opportunity for the Sales Director to define the action plan for success with impact on the product technology roadmap and market positioning.
We expect the Sales manager to have some technical background in Telemetry or RF system to make their customer interaction impactful and facilitate customer familiarity and confidence. Nevertheless, Sales are supported with engineering and demonstration expertise from field applications engineers along with back-office support from our U.S. headquarters in the Atlanta metro area.
The position will report to the Business Development Director.

 Bachelor Degree – Technical or Engineering a plus.
 Five (5) or more years of directly related experience.
 Positive outlook and desire to do what is best for the customer.
 Experience selling or working within the aerospace/defense industry with a preference in RF / telemetry systems
 Experience or willingness to learn about flight test, RF systems, Tracking antenna and Network and data processing Knowledge of RF telemetry theory, RF receiver fundamentals and operations a plus.
 U.S. Government Clearance or the ability to obtain one is a plus
 Previous sales experience with ability to communicate well and lead customer meeting and presentation. Ability to make post visit reports and share main take-aways and customer feedback to help engineering product line team schedule and improve the product road map.
 Familiarity with CRM tool to log opportunities to estimate sales pipeline and adjust order forecast shared with the management
 Ability to work with partners, consultants, and representative to facilitate customer access.
 Familiarity with direct government sales, sales to prime contractors, and/or aerospace industry.
 Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
 Rapidly develop a deep understanding of Safran Data Systems products, technologies and internal practices
 Due to multiple interactions with the teams located in France and Germany, a knowledge of European culture and/or language would be a plus.
