Responsible for test laboratory standard operations, such as perform testing, preparation of test set-ups, test data sheets and test reports along with design of test fixtures and maintenance of the test laboratory in support of certification of aircraft passenger seat products.
2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Must be detailed oriented and have sound engineering judgment.
B) Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
C) Must be able to generate documents like plans, data sheets, and reports.
D) Must have design capabilities to aid test fixture design.
E) Must have the ability to create and analyze CAD drawings.
F) Must be willing to perform tests and some physical work at the test laboratory as needed.
G) Performs other duties as assigned.
3) Qualification Requirements:
A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Must have the ability to create and analyze CAD drawings (CADAM, Pro/E).
ii) Must also have a complete knowledge of finite analysis methods, FAR's related to certification of aircraft interiors, and airframe manufacturers specifications.
Education and Experience:
i) Must have a B.S. in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
ii) One year of related experience preferred.
iii) Familiarity with FAA regulations and airframe manufacturer's specifications preferred.
iv) Experience in stress analysis, finite element analysis methods or MSC NASTRAN is a plus.

4) Physical Demands:
This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
