Operational Excellence Engineering Intern

As an operational excellence (OpEx) engineering intern, you will support the processes required to ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective aerospace maintenance activities. You will have the opportunity to interface with repair and methods engineering, manufacturing leadership, and support teams to meet our business unit goals. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support site efforts for implementing and sustaining operational excellence initiatives including:
o Productivity, Overall Labor Effectiveness (OLE)
o Electronic Performance Dashboards
o QRQC
o Hoshin Kanri and One Safran projects support
o Value Stream Maps
o Visual shop management
• Contribute to the company goals of safety improvement, process flow improvements, floor space optimization, lead-time reduction, elimination of non-conformities, and on-time delivery by leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies including 5S
• Support implementation of visual cues and communication tools in both the shop and office environment to provide “status at a glance” and allow quick and simple detection of abnormal operating conditions.
• Optimize workflow capacity and budget models to support key business unit decisions
• Perform other related duties as required by the operations manager to support production

Safran Nacelles Services Americas is looking for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude, and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or another related engineering field
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including being able to manage large amounts of data and tasks
• Problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Ability to communicate, verbally and written, to internal customers
• Ability to build strategic working relationships at all levels of the organization
• Possess a can-do attitude and sense of urgency when completing projects and tasks
