To support Mfg. Eng. activities with an emphasis on the industrialization of Steering Kits, and New Machine Tooling and support the sustaining program in the Mfg. Eng. - Machine Shop Department. The sound understanding of the principles of design and manufacture / fabrication of production tooling and equipment as well as level of related experience are key for the candidate's success.
o Five years of experience in the aerospace industry with preferably 3 to 5 years of direct experience with tool design and tool manufacture / fabrication.
o Experience with machine shop & assembly shop work environment.
o Must be proficient in CATIA v5 software.
o Experience with analytical stress analysis methodology as well as with computer-aided stress analysis such as CATIA v5 stress analysis module and/or ABAQUS CAE software.
o Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree.
o Experience in design of tools such as machining and assembling fixtures and jigs for manufacture and assembly of landing gear components in a precision machine / assembly shop environment would be an asset.
o Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
o Familiar with Manufacturing Engineering (methods) and CNC/CMM/robotic programming.
o Experience with selection of standard off-the-shelf tooling components, tool materials and knowledge of related best practices.
o Mechanical aptitude and ability to visualize drawings and objects.
o Team and goal oriented, self-motivated and with a strong work ethic.
o Able to communicate clearly and directly; excellent understanding of manufacturing principles, methods & planning, materials and tool design; project management skills.
o Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Excel. Creative and incisive thinking, result oriented, superior communication, good leadership and organizational skills.
o Strong focus on process improvement.
Education and/or Certifications: A degree or diploma in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering
Specialized Knowledge: In depth knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), Catia v5, SmarTeam v5
