Safran Sailing partner
Within the scope of its Safransixty boat sponsorship project and ongoing relations with engineering schools, Safran is supporting the sailing associations at four schools participating in the Longtze Student Cup, a new student regatta series starting this year. Safran will provide funding for the associations at these four schools (Polytechnique, Supélec, ISAE/Supaéro and Centrale Paris), to support a team encompassing two boats and their crews.
This series of races, solely for students, is based on a single new-generation sailboat model, the Longtze Premier, developed by the Defi team that entered the America’s Cup.
Safran Student Sailing Team
Bringing together people around a joint project is the very essence of Safransixty, and the Safran group has chosen to sponsor a joint team from several schools, dubbed the Safran Student Sailing Team. Grouping about 20 students from the four schools, “Safran S2T” comprises two crews, one representing Ecole Centrale de Paris and Supélec, the other Ecole Polytechnique and ISAE.
Prestigious schools onboard
The new Longtze Student Cup could already be considered a major success, since 15 of France’s “grandes écoles” have already registered to take part, including Ecoles des Mines de Paris, Ecole Centrale de Lyon, ESSEC, ESCP, Sciences Po, etc. Through this partnership, Safran will further cement its ties with its four partner schools, as well as enhancing its recognition among all schools participating in this new series. In particular, Safran will spotlight its values of teamwork and outdoing oneself, as exemplified by its own Safransixty boat sponsorship project and Marc Guillemot, skipper of the Safran Open 60 ocean racer.
