Aerospace Challenge: the winners of the jury award aboard Safran 60 ’

The team from the Ecole Centrale de Paris (Chatenay-Malabry) engineering school, already a winner of the Safran Prize, also took the Special Jury Prize for the student "Aerospace Challenge".

They won for the design and construction of an annular aerospike nozzle with relays for hybrid motors. The prize was a day of sailing on the Safran Open 60 ocean racing yacht. The five team members therefore spent March 31 with skipper Marc Guillemot and his crew, sailing off the Breton island of Belle-Ile on this 60’ ocean racer.
They were able to try their hands at sailing during the day, while also discussing nautical sports with the crew, including the daunting solo long-distance races that are Safran’s specialty.

Safran: student partner

Safran is involved with schools at all levels to encourage students to learn more about our professions. For instance, we are a partner with the following:

Student Aerospace Challenge – This Challenge gives associations of students from engineering schools, business schools and universities the opportunity to participate in the design of a suborbital spaceplane, alongside seasoned aerospace experts.

Elles Bougent ("Women on the Move") - An association founded to introduce female students in high school and college to jobs as technicians or engineers. The association helps these young women make career choices and also informs teachers about career opportunities in these sectors.

Engineering/business schools - Safran sets up partnership with major engineering and business schools, including the PERCI program at SUPELEC, Ecole Centrale Paris (premium partner) ISAE and Ecole Centrale Lyon (favored partner).
