Safran supports an athletic and humanitarian initiative
Seven women from the customer support department at Snecma (Safran) participated in a very special event dubbed Easyraideuses ("Easyrunners"), an unusual type of race combining athletic and humanitarian challenges in an international setting, with support from Safran.More
Seven women from Snecma, 25 to 45 years old, traveled to Vietnam this year for Easyraideuses ("Easyrunners"), a week-long series of long-distance running races for women, organized every year in developing countries to foster solidarity and provide financial and material aid to local children. Safran was very touched by its employees’ commitment to this cause, and contributed material aid: sports gear, recycled laptop computers for schools and orphanages, and shipments of clothes and toys across the country.
Catherine Buche-Andrieux, head of the Diversity and Social Responsibility department at Safran, explains how this project reflects the Group’s CSR vision: "This event involved seven young women from the same company, who were able to form strong bonds through this unifying project, over and above their respective functions. For the participants in this event, it was an opportunity to show their commitment to an athletic and humanitarian endeavor that reflects Safran’s spirit of corporate social responsibility, one that it seeks to foster among all employees. Their unifying project conveys several of Safran’s core values, namely the power of teamwork, people empowerment and recognition, and corporate citizenship. ’Easyrunners’ is a real success story, and a source of pride for Safran. It clearly shows that a company can motivate and support its employees in a unifying project that extends beyond a strictly professional framework."
Aliénor Malapel, integration manager for CFM56 engines, shares her impressions: "This project really reflected the values that I look for in a company, namely an outward-looking human entity, one that dares to try new adventures. The values of this project were in synch with those of Safran, and really motivated our engagement in the project."
