Partnerships with schools

Safran seeks to diversify its workforce profile, in particular by recruiting more young graduates from scientific and technical universities, while also bolstering ties with engineering schools.

In a high-tech group such as Safran, expanding our “knowledge base” is of course a major objective. Today, 11% of Safran employees come from top engineering schools or hold a PhD. Our aim is to increase this to 20%.

We are carrying out a number of actions to recruit more high-potential employees:

  • Participation in more than 20 student forums a year (engineering and business schools, universities in France and abroad).
  • Discussion panels and forums with academics.
  • Communications campaigns that target schools.
  • Participation in school boards (education or management).
  • Internships.
  • Support for academic chairs, such as the New Energy Strategies chair at the Ecole de Mines engineering school in Paris.

Safran enjoys close relationships with a number of academic institutions outside France, including the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, Stanford University and Virginia Tech in the United States, and various schools in China and Russia
