Safran’s centers of expertise

The depth and breadth of the Safran group are key to guaranteeing the creativity of our research efforts.

© DR

The Safran group offers a broad spectrum of technological expertise, allowing us to meet very diverse requirements: military or civil, large or small production runs, air and space, land or sea. This diversity has fostered the creation of a wide range of complementary scientific approaches. By leveraging synergies, they give us a powerful tool to tackle emerging market requirements.

Safran has set up five specific “centers of expertise” to facilitate this transverse approach. Each center brings together a network of Safran companies, with one acting as leader. The centers may also call on outside partners, whether research centers or academic labs.

Safran’s five centers of expertise
Leader
Acoustics (airframe, landing gear, engines): 6 companies
Snecma
SPEC (Safran Power Electronics Center, for “more electric” aircraft): 11 companies
Hispano-Suiza
Thermostructural composites (engine parts): 5 companies
Snecma Propulsion Solide
Monitoring (remote surveillance of engine equipment): 11 companies
Snecma
SEED (Safran Embedded System Engineering): 5 companies
