Encouraging gender equality
Gender equality in the workplace is a top priority of Safran’s diversity policy. Equal opportunity for men and women fosters cohesion and helps energize progress throughout the Group.

Initiatives focus on equal compensation and non-discrimination in hiring. The Group has made formal commitments to equal compensation through agreements signed by its main subsidiaries. These accords include objectives, tracking indicators and progress plans.
Gender equality in hiring is equally important, particularly for engineers and management staff. Safran is a member of “Elles bougent” (“Women on the Move”), an association that promotes science and engineering careers for women. Another key objective in the years ahead is facilitating women’s access of women to senior management positions.
Futhermore, Safran seeks to improve the balance between its employees’ work and private lives, via actions that take into account family situations such as parenthood.
Women account for 25% of the Safran workforce worldwide.
2010 objective: 30% women for new hires of engineers and managers
