Hispano-Suiza, a Safran group company, is a major supplier of power electronics for the engines powering tomorrow’s "more electric" aircraft.
Operating through the Safran Power division, Hispano-Suiza applies its expertise on leading-edge power electronics to a number of products, already in production or under development, including:
- ETRAS®, the electrical thrust reverser actuation system, used on the A380 nacelles made by fellow group company Aircelle, has now logged over 150,000 hours in flight.
- EBAC (electrical brake actuation controller), the Boeing 787 braking control unit, produced by fellow group company Messier-Bugatti.
- EBMA (electrical backup mechanical actuator), developed by Messier-Bugatti to control opening of the A400M landing gear doors.
