The nacelle is actually a high-tech system combining advanced acoustics and aerodynamics to help protect the engine, manage heat exchanges, reduce noise and brake the airplane.
The A380 nacelle designed by Aircelle is the technology benchmark in this market. New acoustic technologies applied to all components – air inlet, cowls, thrust reverser, nozzle – make this super-jumbo jet as silent as the much smaller Airbus A320 single-aisle jet.
