CFM International

CFM International, the 50/50 joint company of Snecma and General Electric (GE), markets the CFM56 family of turbofans, which are equally designed, developed, produced and supported by the two parent companies. The CFM56 is the world’s best selling engine for mainline commercial jets (over 100 seats). It powers all models in the Boeing Next-Generation 737 and Airbus A320 families of single-aisle twinjets, as well as the Airbus A340-200 and -300 long-range quadjets. CFM56 engines also power a number of military aircraft, in particular for the U.S. Air Force and Navy.

Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Ltd

Rolls-Royce Turbomeca is the oldest cross-border venture in the European aviation industry. Rolls-Royce and Turbomeca began working together in 1965 to develop the Adour jet engine for the Jaguar training and combat aircraft. Today, this joint company primarily makes the RTM322 turboshaft engine, powering the NH90, WAH-64 Apache and AW 101 Merlin military helicopters.

MTR

MTU Turbomeca Rolls-Royce GmbH (MTR) is a Munich-based joint venture of these three partners. MTR is responsible for the development, production and support of the MTR390-2C engines powering the Tiger combat helicopter.

MTRI

A joint venture that brings Spanish engine-maker ITP into MTR, to develop a higher-power version of the MTR390, the MTR390 E, for the Tiger HAD version.

Europropulsion

An equally-owned subsidiary of SAFRAN and Avio (Italy), Europropulsion is in charge of the development and production of the MPS solid rocket motor for Ariane 5. The two Ariane 5 boosters deliver more than 90% of total thrust during the first two minutes after liftoff. Europropulsion is also developing the P80 solid rocket motor for the new Vega light launcher.

G2P

G2P (Groupement pour la Propulsion à Poudre) is a consortium formed by Snecma Propulsion Solide (75%) and SNPE Matériaux Energétiques (25%). Along with its parent companies it oversees the development, production and maintenance of the solid rocket motors in French strategic missiles.
