CFM signs $13 billion in new deals at Dubai Air Show

  • More than 5,800 total LEAP engine orders to date
  • CFM56 engines continue to sell very well

DUBAI, U.A.E — 19 November 2013 — CFM International's advanced LEAP engine continues to garner broad market acceptance, with the company signing more than 450 engine orders at the 2013 Dubai Air Show. These orders are valued at more than $13 billion U.S. at list pricing, including 82 CFM56 engine orders and long-term service agreements.

To recap:

  • Pegasus Airlines finalized its order for LEAP-1A engine to power 100 Airbus A320neo/ A321neo aircraft, as well as signing a long-term service agreement.
  • Etihad Airways selected the LEAP-1A engine to power 26 Airbus A321neo and signed a long-term service agreement.
  • flydubai signed an agreement for up to 200 LEAP-1B engines to power Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, along with a long-term service agreement
  • flydubai also ordered 22 CFM56-7BE engines to power 11 Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft.
  • Deutsche Lufthansa has selected the CFM56-5B engine to power 30 firm Airbus A320ceo (current engine option) aircraft.

CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (Safran) and GE, is the world's leading supplier of commercial aircraft engines, has delivered more than 25,600 engines to date.
