Corporate philanthropy and solidarity: a benefit concert for cardiac surgery

Safran and the Orchestre de l’Alliance are organizing their seventh concert as part of the Seasons of Solidarity series, to be held on May 3, 2011 at the Salle Gaveau concert hall in Paris.

After supporting Neurodon (brain research), the European Leukodystrophy Association (ELA), Aviation Sans Frontières, La Fondation d'Auteuil, the French Red Cross and Fidesco, Safran is supporting Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, a cardiac surgery association, this year.

Worldwide, nearly one child out of one hundred is born with a heart defect that only surgery can cure. In some countries, the hospital infrastructure is not set up for this type of operation, and families don't always have the means to pay for the operation. The men and women in the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association are therefore doing everything in their power to save children suffering from these afflictions. All ticket receipts from the concert organized by Safran and the Orchestre de l'Alliance (except for reservation and possible ticket seller fees) will be donated to the association.

The concert will be given by the Orchestre de l'Alliance, directed by Pejman Memarzadeh, with David Bismuth playing piano and the Symphonic Choir of Paris, is featuring :

  • Camille Saint-Saëns, Caprice-Valse pour piano et orchestre

« Wedding-Cake », op. 76

  • Camille Saint-Saëns, Symphonie n ° 2 en la mineur, op. 55
  • Gabriel Fauré, La Pavane op.50 en fa dièse mineur
  • Gabriel Fauré, Le Cantique de Jean Racine
  • Ludwig van Beethoven, Fantaisie pour piano, choeurs et orchestre en do mineur, opus 80
