Safran bolsters partnership with SIA Engineering Company

On Tuesday, June 16, Safran Electronics announced the creation of a joint venture with SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC).

Based in Singapore, the new company will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for avionics equipment on airplanes operating in Asia. This is the second partnership between Safran and SIAEC, following an agreement signed in 2000 with Messier Services Asia, a Safran group company specialized in MRO services for landing systems.
"We are delighted with our latest partnership with Safran," said William Tan, Chairman and CEO of SIAEC. "This new partnership reflects SIAEC's commitment to maintaining our position at the cutting edge of aeroxpace, based on expertise in the latest avionics technologies for new-generation airplanes such as the Airbus A380 and A350, and the Boeing 787."

Safran already enjoys a broad presence in Asia, especially in China, where the Group opened four new plants last spring, and in India, where several Safran companies already operate, in particular Teuchos, specialized in engineering services.
