Corporate philanthropy focused on education

In both France and our many host countries, Safran conducts corporate philanthropy actions to support educational, social and cultural objectives.

Sustainable partnerships...

Safran conducts its own philanthropy actions, which complement those carried out by our two foundations. These projects are built on solid, long-term partnerships with leading public and private organizations.

… with major public partners

Our partnership with the French ministry of education and the Orchestre de l'Alliance, symbolizing our corporate philanthropy approach, has introduced thousands of students from priority education zones to classical music. Since 2009, for instance, students from Paris area schools have been able to attend an annual educational concert, reflecting the principles of sharing and social inclusion through culture.

… and private partners

Safran sponsors the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, a public high-school in Washington D.C. We offer financial support to students, most from underserved communities, for professional training in the arts.

Combining education and equal opportunity

Safran's corporate philanthropy is built on a three-pronged educational, social and cultural approach. Since 2011 we have been a partner in the Talents des Cités ("Talent in the ‘hoods") operation, created by the French Senate and the Ministry of Urban Affairs, Youth and Sports, for young entrepreneurs in priority neighborhoods.

Les ateliers de Planète Sciences

We also support "Planète Sciences", an association that designs introductory aerospace courses at different levels, and especially for children. Given as experimental workshops, these courses provide an introduction to the technologies used at Safran, as well as the diversity of our business sectors. Around the world, we support a number of socio-cultural initiatives through prestigious institutions, such as:

  • Papalote Museo del Niño, an interactive science and technology museum in Mexico City, spreading scientific culture via fun, interactive exhibits. Safran supported an operation that allowed more than 4,200 school children from underserved neighborhoods to visit the museum.
  • Along with the French embassy in the United States, since 2011 we have formed a long-term partnership to organize concerts that promote young virtuosos, given in prestigious venues in Washington, D.C. and on tours to American universities.
